New Years Eve, 2016. We're digging a snow cave deep in the backcountry of British Columbia. The light is leaving us and the temperatures are dropping to -30 degrees Celsius.
6 hours of hiking through a snowstorm in -30 degree weather had me confronting mortality. Yet, at the same time, in awe of the beauty of our planet. This was the last hours of 2016 and the first moment of 2017.
